HTTP General Headers

Introduction

The following table lists the standard general-header fields defined by HTTP/1.1; these provide general control information and may be included in a client request or server response.

Cache-Control	Controls caching of a document
Connection	Controls connection keep alive
Date	Indicates the local time
Pragma	Specifies implementation-specific options
Trailer	Indicates the headers included in a checked trailer
Transfer-Encoding	Specifies the transfer encoding used
Upgrade	Requests a protocol upgrade (e.g. to SSL)
Via	Indicates proxies and proxy protocols
Warning	Warns of a possible problem
